Medical checkup:

We have a physician and a nurse who visit us three times a week. They promote and coordinate health prevention programs involving vaccination, visual acuity, parasite treatment, childbearing planning, gynecology, and auditory and oral health.
There is an increasing demand from the community, so we need to enlarge the healthcare program. With your help, we can make it.

Dental Care:
Thanks to the support from the Universidad de Antioquia, our children may access to dentistry services every Thursday, when they receive basic attention, prophylaxis, special treatments and dental health prevention; aiming to strengthen, at school and home, desirable dental health practice.

School restaurant:

Bearing in mind the socioeconomic condition of our children and the consequences the malnutrition brings to the learning process, we feel the urge to supply daily feeding to children in the institution.

The menus are designed in order to supply the nutritional requirements of the students, based on the constant evaluation of anthropological measures and other standards that show specific dietary deficiencies. Diet is supplemented with soybean dishes, presented on a variety of options, which have a high nutritional value for the students.

At present, we have three school restaurants where we serve 515 children in Llanaditas, 120 in Esfuerzos de Paz settlement and 100 kids in Barrio 8 de Marzo.
The Welfare Office of Medellín endorses our work, but because of the great demand and nutritional deficiency of our children, we must constantly search for aid to support these restaurants.

Help us with this great work!

Psychological service:

Considering the negative effects derived from the multiple traumatic situations suffered by these communities, Las Golondrinas Foundation offers mental health care on different areas:

  • Clinical attention (evaluation, psycho diagnosis and psychotherapy)
  • Psychological guidance
  • Parent’s School
  • Training and workshops with students and teachers
  • Home visits
  • Research on mental health

The personalized and family psychological attention benefits the students of Colegio Básico Caminos de Paz and their families, as well as external population from the neighborhood.

Ambulatory Food Program:
We offer food support to needy families in the communities, giving supplies accordingly with the donations in kind that we receive from the persons and institutions that want to join us.
