The men and women who dwell in these marginalized neighborhoods have very low educational levels and lack training for a job, which implies the impossibility of joining the labor market and of reaching a decent salary that could cover their basic needs. This situation is worst in women since many of them are family head mothers.
Various courses are offered, such as: computers, bakery, cooking, sewing machines, apparel and textile manufacturing, macramé, embroidery, etc. These courses are parallel to workshops on self-steem growth, as a way to promote the development of social and labor abilities.

One of the main problems in the families that live in these neighborhoods is over-crowding, since there are homes with more than 8 members which only have one or two beds. In front of this situation, we have devised the double-deckers program as an alternative that contributes to diminish the sexual abuse index and to improve mental health of the family members.

The settling dynamic of the zone, represented by the inflow of displaced groups, determines a composition where most homes are built with non appropriate housing materials such as boards, cardboard and plastic lining.
Since the program started, 200 prefabricated and traditional house solutions have been awarded, bearing in mind the specific requirements of each family and the adequate space for a harmonious development of the members in the family group.

Due to the low purchasing capability of the dwellers of the zone because of unemployment and of the scarce remuneration obtained for their task, one of the main services of the Foundation are the Clothing stores. In the stores, the community has the opportunity of buying used and new clothes, as well as essential goods at a low price.
These stores are possible thanks to donations of clothes, toys and other used items good as new. The goods are obtained through the work of volunteers from the Foundation.

You can help with this work giving the goods you no more need, and which are in good condition.
